WEST v North

Post by Second Team on Sat Apr 12, 2014 7:57 pm

Changes for this match?

With a forward line of talls Webby, Still and Middleton and a back line of Hayes, Keough and Milne I think we will get some structure and stability that we need. Bonus now is that we have three potential rucks.  Shocked Shocked Shocked

ST

Agree with you 100%. That structure looks much better. Hartlett will also be back for round 4 against Port

A lot of games to go with plenty of good players to come back and as ST pointed out, structures overall should improve with the weeks to come.

If we lose this week, that will be 0-3 and that will be curtains for 2014, with a game against The Power Bs at Alberton the week after.

Last Friday was the worst game I have seen Fisher play.
Turned the ball over twice in the second qtr, which resulted in two Eagles goals and his disposal and lack of awareness was awful.
He should keep his spot. He can't play that bad again.

I would have the same 22 as BloodnTars however just a few minor positional changes

FF Webb Still Fielke
HF Stevens Middleton Beech
C Silverlock Schmidt Newell
HB Fisher Milne Ezard
FB Hayes Keough Anderson

1st R Nelson Tuck MacReadie
Int Bricknell,Schiller Dijksman

In Webb,StillBricknell and Dijksman
Out Caire Scott both inj. Gallard Wong

MacReadie played on the wing for the majority of the game last week and against South.
Think he needs to spend more in the square
Dijksman deserves a chance and Bricknells run and carry will be important
Hayes has struggled up forward and with Webb and Still back his best spot is down back
We have

Whilst 3 and 0 wouldn't be ideal, i don't by any means think it is season over. Look at Centrals last year who came back from a 0-4 start to finish fourth. Also it depends on how open the competition is. So far with some of the results, the competition fairly open and we are not that far behind.

Miles is a massive loss for North. He just about is to North what Ryan Ferguson was worth to us over the last few years.

A good sprinkling of league players in the B grade as well.

What an absolute horrible game of football.
Skills were crap all night. North were rubbish for three quarters but their last quarter was really good.
Zip three with The Power reserves next week, I think we are done and dusted for 2014....

One of the worst games of footy I have seen -  Barely a league footballer between the 42 players on the field tonight -  I get the endeavour argument which was apparent but this is meant to be league football

NEGATIVES
Skill level - What skill level?  Over use the handball (to the feet of players) - Kicking short to contests....  And north were no better than us except they were gifted more goals and then converted them to just get home....

We lost all 4 grades

Positives: - Not many BUT

Thank god I didnt have to pay $14 for entry - AND Thanks Norwood for voting against dropping entry to $10 - Selfish mob!

Tom Keough -  Thought he stood up again and was one of few for either side that didn't fumble the ball.  Schmidt was good BUT did waste some of his possessions kicking to contests in the middle of the ground but he does have an element of class.

No injuries from the league game

Tuck and Hartlett to play next game
