2015 recruiting
Ben Rutten has retired from AFL footy today. Would he be looked at even for just 1 year. I've always maintained that he could be handy at full forward. Much the same as Wundke and Duldig are being used.
Jason Porplyzia could be another 1 if delisted or retired at the end of the year.
Brad Helbig hasn't had a game for Richmond for a while and Kaidan Brand doesn't look like making despite being young. Hawthorn do tend to give their players longer than some other clubs though.
Porplyzia, Helbig and Brand would be my priorities if available. Rutten would be ok if he wanted to commit.
Others thoughts?

He hasn't retired as of today, he is retiring at the end of this season.
As for us recruiting him I say no, had he been a couple of years younger yes.

Would love him to play but I have a feeling he will be offered a role at AFC in a coaching capacity

Re: 2015 recruiting
Wonder if Rutten as a playing assistant coach could be an attractive / practical package for him and the club . Reckon he'd have a season or 2 left in him at SANFL level . Quality key position player I'd love to see him come back

Would definitely have a crack at Helbig. The kid can play. Injury has curtailed his development for sure.
I think Brand will stay a Hawk.
Rutten I think will get a gig with the Crows. He has been a great player and I'm sure his playing days are over
If the Porps was available I would certainly go after him. If he doesn't want to play he would be a great assistant coach.

Would love to get Porps back, he would be an X factor for sure and his guidance and class would help us no end. Versatile who can play anywhere, forward, back or midfield and he's Westies through and through.

With Bendigo Gold folding from the VFL at the end OF 2014, there might be one or 2 players worth looking at..

FB
Certainly worth having look at a couple of players Bendigo
We need to be on the front foot with recruiting for next year which I'm sure the club are aware of
