No... but we had a good hit out, we did very well for the first 1/2 against a fairly strong Eagles side..then the Eagles put a second fresh side in the 2nd half and more or less blew us away in the last qtr. No scoreboard so i don't know the final score

Hartlett, Helbig, Fielke and a couple of others pulled out at 1/2 time, so we had some tired legs towards the end in very warm conditions.

Overall i think Mickan and co were happy with the trial.

Forgot to mention..the bad news from the trial was when Brad Dolling (Riverland boy) came off injured early in the first qtr and taken to hospital with a lacerated spleen. Could be operated on today.
Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Bad luck for Brad. I hope he recovers quickly and resumes his promising football career with Westies.

Of the new players, Corey Solly was very good in ruck and Joey Cua, from Mildura worked into the game nicely after a slow start.

Kaine Stevens was outstanding.

Jimmy Ezard, our oldest player (?) played close to the whole game, was very good and his leadership was excellent.

Tom Schott and Nick Homburg got a lot of the footy early.

Given the Eagles had a very strong side in the first half and we were playing so many inexperienced players, I was a bit surprised how competitive we were for the first 3 quarters.
