Assessing 2015

Post by aldo russian on Wed Dec 10, 2014 10:41 am

Assume that you are a Board member. Where does the club need to finish on the ladder in 2015 for the coach to be reappointed?
Or if it's not just about where we finish, what other criteria would you use?

We were a top 3 side when Collo left , if we don't get decimated by injury and with the recruits we have picked up I think we need to finish top 3 , seems harsh I guess but we need success it's been too long !

I think our defence looks thin.
In the past 2 years we have lost Fergy, Tippett, Mangan and now Thompson and Bricknell.
Are there any other recruits to come??

Great topic AR and thanks for trying to get attention back on to the park (and I don't mean the car park)

I would be wrapped if in season 2015 we could be:
* competitive EVERY WEEK
* show 100% commitment EVERY WEEK
* improve WITH EVERY WEEK

I just want to come to every game thinking we had a chance of winning and that the team is going to do their best to win.

If not (like last season) changes are required.

i think we need to win a final (so finish at least 4th), and there needs to be a sense that the players are playing with commitment to the game style, to each other and to the coach.

Maybe I am trying to manage my own expectations AR as I was shattered by last years performance.
I would take:
- win over 60% of games in the 2nd half of the year
- have over 5 first year players consistently performing in the first 18
- have 3 of these performing in the top 15 players

I'm expecting next year we will struggle in the first half given the player turnover. However I expect if we can be consistent and they play for the coach with lots of commitment then we will come out of the year with a lot more optimism for season 2016.

We were a seriously broken team at the end of last year and to play in the finals in 2015 would be exceeding my expectations unfortunately Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Re: Assessing 2015
Can't say I was overly rapped with coaches appointment when occurred to replace Collo, and predicted upon that apt whom would be added to the box to assist and got it right unfortunately...so expected poor 2014 with that and loss of key defensive players. With a year down the preseason over with little injury and more recruits, I feel to be competitive each week and to win a final is a must, In my eyes am pleased to see more attacking footy but we cannot forget to defend, and winning more games this year than losing, being competitive always and capable of beating the ladder leaders is going to be important to our crowd numbers and translates to dollars, to win a final this year will ratify the right selection in the coaching box in my opinion. Looking forward to a good positive start to the season, go bloods. Very Happy
