Thoughts for this week.

Hopefully last week will help us this week against Norwood.
In Hardy out Middleton. Anyone else. Shocked Shocked Shocked

Small ground so a tall strong marking Hardy should get his opportunity & make an impact. He deserves it.

Let's hope he keeps up his average of the past 4 games.

Let's also hope we take the game on & give them a taste of our quick, slick attacking style & win.

I think Hardy should come in but I'm not sure if Middleton is the one to omit. I'm still not sure if we are getting enough out of playing the two ruckmen. Going on last week's hitouts, Norwood basically ruck Baulderstone most of the day, with occasional relief from Davis. I wonder if Hardy could do the same thing for us.

Hardy's inclusion should also free Tuck up to play more on ball, possibly to keep a close check on Panos.

I would have Middleton and Hardy in the side as our two marking forwards and I would leave Homburg out

Tuck should be moved into the midfield as the Parade is small oval and this will suit his style of play. It's the opposite for Homburg being an outside Mid the oval probably isn't a good fit for him.

I would also like to see Anderson given a run through the midfield instead playing as a permanent half forward

Be nice to see our boys give that Porplyzia shoulder a decent test

JK"

Yeah, maybe Brady Dawe could be given that job.
At least we know they'll find Mickan harder than Collo to get in a headlock in the race.
It really is about time we started beating these guys.

In my opinion, with regards to that bloke -  don't mention his name or bother quoting him - treat him as a non-existent entity.  Never mention or quote him again -  dont bite when he makes foolish childish comments - That's the best way to treat bacteria

Its the game I've been looking forward too for a while.
South was suppose to be a test, but the umpiring ruined the game such that little information could be gained. Good win in the end, but should have been a close game all night with both teams playing well in the first quarter. I thought the play in the 3rd reflected a despondent team having been persecuted by the authorities. I wonder if MM used his training in psychology at the 3rd Q break. Most likely it was due to the preseason training...they look fit.
Norwood are always very strong at the Parade.  I'll be pleased with just a strong effort, which has been evident all year. You never know. Continued commitment from a team playing well......

Healthy banter I reckon!

This is a fraction of the dribble you will hear from the incoherent pissed bogan idiots on Coopers Hill or the senile blue rinse brigade scattered throughout all other parts of the Parade.

A bloody tough ground to endure both on and off the park!!

BTW. I expect Porps shoulder will easily stand up to these Redlegs light weights!!!

Just didn't go right today unfortunately... Keough a late withdrawal, Ezard off  at 1/2 time with a shoulder injury, Middleton struggling with a slight hamstring, and Helbig was ill.
And a piss poor gutless decision by one of the umpires at the end not to pay holding the ball in the goal square which should have resulted in a draw.

Crowd 3985..good to see a lot of red and black colours in the crowd today. Very Happy

Frustrating...
I hate Norwood's possession football or any possession football for that matter if the player's are allowed to get away with kicking a ball 5 metres and it's called a mark.
Bloody hell, call play on and make sure the footy travels the required distance. It makes a mockery of the game when you can literally give it to the bloke standing next to you as a mark.
Good effort by the boys but we didn't win. Liked Hardy's game for his first back.

What a great game.
Brilliant effort from all involved.
Many admirable events...dropping Hardy back in defense at crucial times was impressive.
Perhaps let the pressure off early in the last Q, but very pleasing overall.

Random Thoughts.

1. Interesting that there is no match report when blackandredandblack goes on holiday. Doesn't the boat have Wi-Fi.
2. Umpires have long memories. What the hell did we do to those 3 Muppets
3. Won the clearances but I don't think we took this advantage.
4. Hardy's ability to play both ends of the ground will be important to us.
5. Injuries to Jimmy and Middleton hurt us badly.
6. Stevens and Wasely-Black both need to work on their disposal if they want to go to the next level.
7. Hope someone in the reserves played well. We need a couple to come in next week.
8. Nelson and Willits need to have some impact up forward.
9. Anderson is now as good as any in our team.
10. We need to respond next week against Port. Shocked Shocked Shocked

Sailing up the coast of Norway. Last week I put in a brilliant effort by posting a match report by guesswork as blackandred while sailing in the Baltic.

Minor detail, ST, but check it out.

Given that many of us were saying this block of games would tell us where we really are, the results of the last two weeks suggest we're contenders don't they?

Aldo

We are contenders for sure. However we need to beat Port this week.
The injuries to Middleton and Ezard had a signicant impact on us.
Plus Helbig had no impact on the game due to illness
Homburg really struggled

As for who comes in from the ressies for Ezard and Middleton perhaps Klemke
And Newell. Mind you the ressies have been poor of late. Maybe Milne will return
from injury

As for best players I thought Porps,Hartlett,Beech and Anderson all had their moments

Well done Bloods you have shown us you can play under Pressure and Respond
Wish Nelson could hold more Marks (Soft Hands)
2nd team are you the one Terrorising the Umpires !! (I wish they would pay the 1st free kick )
With Injuries(Ezard,Middleton) its time to see Hampton,Johnson,Klemke
Our Skills need to improve (Hand & Foot)

Regarding the umpiring, I noticed in the worst instances in the South game that the umpire was in a poor position to see. That can happen, yet no other umpire intervened. The umpiring seems substandard this year and I haven't seen an overrule this year. Maybe that's what's missing.
