We won 6 of our first seven.
Since then we are 3 wins / 4 losses........
Willits should play this week. Kurtze is the best ruck in the comp.
Hartlett will miss with his hammy.
Maybe Ezard or Helbig???

I have never heard you talk so much sense ST Spot on.

After Sturt had lost 6 in a row perhaps Port thought they just had to turn up so I wouldn't read too much into that win for Sturt especially at their home ground which most sides struggle on. Just goes to prove how much is played above the shoulders.

Who would you drop as an under performing player ST?

I can't find many that haven't played various important roles for the team. Sure we were smashed but mainly in one qtr last game against a team loaded with talent. The lads have been getting the job done most of the time.

Dont lose faith too easily. We have had 9 wins with 4 rounds to go & I personally don't think we can miss the finals now.

At the start of the season I'm sure most supporters would have been very happy with playing finals this year after last season as deep down they wouldn't have expected it.

As soon as we put ourselves in that position everyones expectation rises which I guess is normal so let's remain positive. I know the players are.

I agree, MP.

I think our players have been excellent this year. Some can whinge all they like about only winning narrowly at Elizabeth, but I haven't sung the song out there much for a long, long time and I thought it was a good effort. We even got praise from Roy Laird, a rarity.

After trailing by 4 goals to zip last Sunday, we outscored Adelaide by 8 goals to 4 over the next 2 and a half quarters. Getting run over in the last quarter was a worry, but we'll see how that form lines up watching Adelaide against other teams in the next few weeks.

I don't see any players who aren't performing, either. One or two have down days, but it's generally been a team performance. We're kicking more goals than anyone and have won 9 of 13.

Our aim is to win the Premiership. It's an open year and we're in with as much chance as anyone.

It's up to us.

So you think Brad's form has been much better than Snelling's recently?

I think Logan Hill has been excellent. His opponents aren't touching it much and Hugh Haysman was injured early last week but has also been very good in his first year.

I agree with you about considering Willo and Bonner pushing for selection, along with Nick Homburg.

WEST

West Adelaide has named a settled line-up for its contest against Sturt at City Mazda Stadium on Saturday.
Seeking to respond after last Sunday’s 63-point loss to Adelaide, the Bloods have included ruckman Ryan Willits and possible debutant Riley Bonner in their 23-man squad.
Willits rested last weekend while the Bloods’ reserves had the bye while Bonner – an All-Australian Under-18 – logged a strong performance in the Macca’s Cup.
A neat-kicking defender, Bonner – from the Goodwood Saints – measures in at 191cm and 79kg.
The left-footer collected 29 disposals, six tackles, nine inside 50s, four clearances and a goal in his team’s comfortable win against Sturt last round.
West’s strong-looking side is emphasised by Magarey Medallist James Ezard and former Richmond midfielder Brad Helbig playing in the Reserves.

We've named 23, so Willits is no guarantee to make the 21.
