Where We Were When Westies Won
We were standing on the "hill", but just West of the goals, with some friends from Melbourne, who got to see Adelaide Oval at its best, and a Bloody good game of Football. 5 minutes into the last quarter, I said to myself - great pressure from Westies, the Eagles are not going to get 4 goals............. but I'm not going to look at the time clock! I eventually looked at the clock, and there was a couple of minutes to go, I am Mr. Cool! Where were YOU???

Behind the southern goals with the CS , voice was completely shot and when Greeny kicked that goal a few tears were shed in absolute happiness

Re: Where We Were When Westies Won
In front of the scoreboard with my long time suffering friends. My kids wondered why I was so quiet (not a natural thing for me at the footy) and then they realized I had tears in my eyes. After so many years it was so surreal everything had fallen into place and the siren sounded. My 80 year old father called me within minutes to ask me how i enjoyed it. After being one of the last to leave the club on Sunday night after gallons of beer I wondered will I ever see this again. Providing the club, players and supporters remain united rather than complaining about crap and personalities we will be back. We all have opinions so lets just focus on the present celebrations of this great club and playing group......2016 will be here soon enough and we will start from scratch.

Re: Where We Were When Westies Won
I was in the Chappell stand and the greatest sight was when the final siren went and seeing all the Westies supporters hugging, cheering, crying with emotion and beaming with pride. The realisation that our mighty Bloods team had finally did what we had all been waiting for 32 long years was was such a fantastic feeling!
Well done, lets do it again!

Re: Where We Were When Westies Won
I was in the Western Stand . The last time I saw The Bloods in a Grand Final was 1959 as I missed 1961 and 1962. My son Michael who was a mascot for the Bloods in 2002 was on the hill with his converted Bloods mates. We all went to Richmond Oval after the game and celebrated the win.

Re: Where We Were When Westies Won
In the Western stand, my adult son turned to me and said "Not drinking today Dad"
"Not today mate I have to concentrate, it's a big day"
Made up for it later I might add.
Fantastic...

Re: Where We Were When Westies Won
Stood behind the eagles race (which was our race for the qualifying and preliminary finals).
Stood there in the qualifying, prelim and grand finals and we won.
Didn't stand there in the semi and we lost.
Will definitely be standing there in our future finals at Adelaide Oval.
