Delisting are in full swing now in the AFL .
I know we're not recruiters but do any players fan your interest?
Eric Wallace ?
Sam Darley ?
Arryn Siposs ?

There's quite a list.

I wonder if the club has talked to Luke Davis if anyone remembers him.

we will be over the salary cap eg if we loose any of these 6 kids( Francis, Snelling, Bonner, Haysman, Brind, Agostino) and try and replace them with a same quality player, these lads where on next to nothing( $200 a match I think), so if we loose 3 players out of this 6 we will only be able to afford 1 replacement of the same quality of player, to stay under the salary cap. also you will have to take into account our current squad of players would be up for a raise in the match payment after winning the flag.

Also to my knowledge these player as well are in this years draft Wasley-Black,Beech,Keough,Dijksman,Middleton,Turner,Watchman.

we will have to target our recruiting to players who want to come play for us, with a view of still getting drafted in the future in return for a less of a match fee in return or ex players like Tyson Slattery) or from the delisting's above in my opinion who need a second chance to get drafted again, who could be handy gains for our squad Jordon Bourke(DEF), Arryn Siposs(FWD),Kurt Aylett(Mid).

Correct weight Jamo. We must also bear in mind that any player recruited from another State League will cost us $15K Transfer fee which we can ill afford so we must & will be very selective with interstate recruiting. Especially with the "go home" factor which is always a concern.

Although our U18's did not perform as well as 2014 there is still some very good talent in this current group. There are also a couple of very talented players coming next year from within our zones especially the Riverland. One particular lad wanted to come this year but was held back due to a new apprenticeship agreement with his new boss.

Have faith in our recruiters. They have done a very good job of recent.

I agree with all these comments up to a point. I would add though that the club is really obliged to replace lost players rather than accept an inevitable slide down the ladder. Otherwise, what's the point of existing? Members dug into their pockets for a transfer fee a couple of years ago, I dare say we'd do it again. On top of that, every effort must be made to prioritise spending in the football side of operations.

Re: Delistings

MyPaspective is correct.  15 of our Premiership side (doesn't that sound great) played juniors for West.  The other 4 who played finals also were West juniors, so IMO we should be strong in developing our young players and there is a lot of work going into that.

Transfer fees cost $15,000 and another $5,000 in the second year.  We don't have much money and our pleas for help from members to assist with that (apart from one or two wonderful offers from people here) haven't been successful. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated.  Enough people at even $10 or $20 a month would make a huge difference.

However, we contact many, many potential players (including players mentioned here) each year and try to be selective in filling the needs the coaches see as priorities, rather than a scattergun approach.

Rest assured, our number one aim is to ensure we have a strong team to defend our crown.

PS::  Just read aldo's post and he is correct.  Our CEO, at the B&F, stressed the necessity to stay at the top and that the whole point of our commercial operation was to support our football operations.  Just from a personal point of view, my whole effort is to ensure we don't repeat our history of often falling away after success and that we become a club constantly at the top, on and off the field.  I'm sure the whole Board is of like mind.

Quite right, cc. We are doing both, re-signing current players and looking at recruiting actively.

We are going to be the hunted in 2016 by every SANFL side we play.
Whether it be in sport or business you must always strive to get better and part
of getting better is maintaining your current list and also recruiting selected
Players that your club needs

We do need to recruit
1. Another Quality key defender
2. Another midfielder with pace
3 A Ruckman which would allow Webby to spend more time forward

With the rotations being reduced to 50 next year I can see late in games
Players kicking to contests more often when going forward and I think we
Need more marking power  such as Webby who could spend
the majority of the game as our key forward target

Having 15 premiership players having played juniors for the club is a fantastic achievement that's for sure.

I want this footy club to remain a powerhouse for years to come and if that means Giving money for recruiting I will.
Every little bit helps.

I want the West  Adelaide Football Club to be the envy of every SANFL side

I think we will lose Snelling,Francis and Bonner to the draft

I still hope that Nelson could be a good sanfl ruckman if given the chance.

I don't think either of those players has left the club and I'd be amazed if Porps went anywhere but Westies.

I think the club is confident of signing all required players for next year.

I'd be amazed if we lost any of the premiership players, except to the draft.
