It's not all doom and gloom.
We have Trent Stubbs who will be a good player.
We might have a bit of cap space to go and get a good player or two.
Agostino, Brind, Anderson, Homburg, Klemke all could be league regulars next year. They all missed the GF.
Jesse Watchman could be a player too.......

We will now be playing against two of our premiership players in 2016.
Somehow that's seems to be totally ludicrous in my view

Definitely need to recruit

1.Two quality key defenders with the loss of Keough
2. A quality key forward to replace Beechy. That's going to be difficult.

Have faith.

Our club also delivered a premiership and won't sit back on that.

Bear in mind 19 of our 25 who played finals were West juniors, so have faith in the ones we kept.

Tom Simpkin  25 years  191cm 90kg  ex St Kilda Played 31 games (Backman)
Mathew Watson 23years 195cm 99kg ex Carlton   Played 23 games (Back or Forward)

Congrats to all the boys who got drafted, it's their dream to get on an AFL list and have a shot at playing football professionally.

Beech and Keough have put in the hard yards and I'm really pleased for both lads.
Both such reliable and under rated players and I hope they each get a chance to actually show their wares on the big stage and just don't run around in the state league teams.

I feel for the other guys like Haysman, Agostino and Brind etc but Beechy made it out of the SANFL at a more mature age so a good season next year will put them back in the spotlight.

It's kudos to the club that so many players actually get drafted from us.
This is a real selling point to would be recruits. We must be right up there as one of the most recruited teams in the country.

Concentrating on the kids has paid off in spades and if we can snag a couple of mature recruits to blend in with existing players we'll be up there next year.

Well done to the boys today. Keough and Beechy deserved a chance and Snelling is a ball magnet with leadership qualities.

Quite frankly I'm bloody angry. Not with the boys that got drafted, well done and good luck in the future it is after all every footballing kids dream. What I am angry about is the system the SANFL agreed to and that our club led the charge to accept!. All for $50000/yr (less than one persons average annual wage). Now fast forward to next September......how will you feel to read a headline in the Tiser something like this.... Adelaide Ravens into their first SANFL grand final........The Adelaide football club yesterday won it's way into it's first grand final after defeating reigning premier West Adelaide in yesterdays preliminary final. Leading goal scorer Johnathon Beech led the attack aptly supported by..........and so on. Just what were the commissioners thinking when they agreed to this? It's one thing to lose players but have them now turn up against us for Gods sake! The way I feel right now I won't be attending games against the two AFL reserves next year. And don't get me started on the TV deal.

Agree with all you have said TAARS.

I congratulate all of our players for getting drafted and wish them all the best in there future playing years, well done to you all , I have got a great deal of pleasure watching you guys wearing the red and black.

To lose 6 players in the draft has to have some sort of impact on any club and I only hope we can cover the ones who are departing. To have so many young one's drafted is a credit to our junior programme.

One more thing from me that p's me of, we played a club in the grand final that had every team of there's finish minor premier and played in all 3 grand finals but not one of there players is drafted, go figure.

It is common sense to think the premiership would bring our club closer together but no one could have forseen this new found affection towards ST???

Absolutely superb effort from our boys being promoted into the AFL. I look forward to following their progress in the years to come. Just another great effort by the Football Operations Dept. in finding and developing this talent.
