Wow that's unexpected and good news. Wasley Black importance to our team can't be under estimated.
He sets the 'tone' of our play.An aggressive and uncompromising attack on the ball and the man much like Morris did.
He really is a key component of our side and the recruiters should be congratulated for obtaining his signature. I value his inclusion in our side highly.

Re: Recruiting

We've been hearing that 69% of our Grand Final team comprises home grown players, which is a great achievement.
A more concerning statistic though is that 48% of our Grand Final team will turn 27 or older this year. Our list is going to require susbtantial refreshing over the next few years, and we're going to have to recruit better in the near future than we have this year to achieve that (along with developing more home grown talent.)

In 2016:
Schmidt, Webb = 27
Caire, Fielke, Hill = 28
Green, Tuck, Willits = 29
Hartlett = 30
Porplyzia = 32

In addition, Hardy and Nelson will turn 28.

Extremely good point, aldo, and you'll be pleased to know we're well aware of it.

IMO it represents one of our biggest challenges, to ensure we don't suddenly 'drop off'.

The website will announce another young recruit in the next few days, one who may take a little time to develop as a regular league player, but one we've recruited with this very problem in mind. We'll continue to address refreshing the list.

Mark is well on top of this situation.

As I said, excellent point.

Is Ryan Willits on the list for 2016? - Don't think I saw him on the ground or watching from the sidelines at the first trial. What's the latest on him?

Yes I think so WP.
A bit of a shame but I understand he has decided to concentrate on his work & study. I don't think Pete has been cleared to play elsewhere so you never know what he might do down the track.

Although it puts a hole in our tall ruck depth it will accelerate the development of our 2 young ruckman who are both over 200cms tall. They showed great promise in our trial against Norwood but still have a way to go.

Let's hope Brucey & Spider stay sound.

Dissappointing that Jesse Watchman won't be at the club this year.
He is a talent and could have been a good player!!

Very disappointing Jesse Watchman won't be with the club in 2016.
I was really hoping he could develop into the next quality key forward.
Perhaps he doesn't have the confidence in his injured shoulder.

We have lost 12/13 players from last year and recruited 5......
Will depth be a problem this year???

WP, I think many of those leaving thought their chances of playing league had possibly gone.

There are many very promising young players comin through, one or two who are already well up to league standard.

Good question, though, and I was surprised about Jesse Watchman. Perhaps he wasn't confident about his shoukders?

Many on this site has confidential information about players but we do not try to big note rather give the player involved repect that is due and allow them (and the club) to leave the club getting appropriate respect and appreciation.

Just saying
