Re: Needs for 2017
Just seen on talkingfootysa that it looks likes Simon Phillips may have left Norwood with South and us interested in his services.
Wouldn't say no as he always seem to kill us when we played them.

If those who sign him agree to reimburse the club for the costs of his shoulder surgery I say go for it.

Re: Needs for 2017
Simon Phillips has been a good player for Norwood, however
I'm not sure we should be chasing a player who is 30 next year
And has had 5 shoulder reconstructions the last one being
This year.
If we are looking for a small forward perhaps we can try
Daniel Caire. It may reinvigorate him and give him a new lease of life.
Young Aaron Anderson could be used in the back pocket after coming back from a knee reco.

Re: Needs for 2017
We need to find at least two defenders. Keough and Tippett should be our priority. If we can't get them, Sam Fisher although 34 would be handy for a year.

Re: Needs for 2017
Sportsbet have us bottom at 51/1 this year with 2nd to bottom being the Bays at 21/1!!!!
Are we really expected to be that bad!! Is it going to be another tragic season?
I take it the bookies don't think much of our list and/or coach.
What are the thoughts of other posters and those closer to the club than me.

We were also predicted to finish last in 2015.billrobs1 wrote:Sportsbet have us bottom at 51/1 this year with 2nd to bottom being the Bays at 21/1!!!!

Good point axis and they had us in the top 3 this time last year. So I guess they are not the best gauge of form. The Axis wrote:We were also predicted to finish last in 2015.billrobs1 wrote:Sportsbet have us bottom at 51/1 this year with 2nd to bottom being the Bays at 21/1!!!!

How many wins are you predicting this year and where will we finish?

I think if our attitude and fitness are the same as last year, we'll get the same results. I think if our attitude and fitness are very good, and we get a reasonable run with injuries, we'll be pretty handy.

Further to aldos comment, i have been to a couple of training sessions and was impressed on how much effort is being put into skills and ball movement drills.
At the end of the day the players need to put this training into action on match day but all indications at this time is very promising -- time will tell.

Re: Needs for 2017
I would hope the lads go out to every game believing they can win. Reality is that no team will go through unbeaten. I would like us aim for 8 to 10 wins. 10 wins could sneak you into the finals. From there it's a new season and if you hit form at that time of year who knows? Can't wait for round 1.billrobs1 wrote:Good point axis and they had us in the top 3 this time last year.
