Not to rake over old coals, (so I will), but expect a bit of quiet from some over these announcements from Westies hard working recruiters....... Looks like a couple of good pickups to me....

Tom Keough back at the bloods for 2017.

He is a very important player for us as he can play at either end of the ground.

Glad Tom is back, gun player and bloke.

His re-signing has nothing to do with the recruiting committee though, was always going to return when delisted by the Suns

Great news re Jake Wilson, Tom Keough and the re-signed players from last year.
Regardless of the predictable negative comments, well done to the recruiting committee and all involved in the football management of the Club. Thank you from the the supporters and members.

Recruiting committee does cop a lot of flak at times so at this time I'd like to say well done with the work thus far. Hopefully there is more positive news still to come.

I believe you are correct to suggest that it was highly unlikely that tom would sign for any other sanfl club and that if he played league in south australia it would be with us. However  i do not believe that it was just a given that he was to return to league sanfl level

Based on experience with other young men who went to afl it is not a shoe in that they will come back to play league football as they are often burnt out or distressed with events and have a multitude of other lifestyle options such as being with family and friends playing with mates at thier original country club or playing a much lower stess and time demands style of football for good $$$$$$ in a lower grade of football.

My experience is that to bring a player back to the league club requires efforts by recruiters to continually be in contact during thier entire time away (whilst obviously wishing they have a long and successfull afl career) so they feel thier friend and surrogate family is within the club also it often require dedicated and delicate ongoing negotion/discussion to create and environment to address multiple other life style issues that may be concerning and affecting a players potential return.

I am now aware that various recruiting staff have kept in contact with tom and continue to contact all the others within the afl on a regular basis. This is why i gave what i feel is justified credit to the recruiting staff

If i may speak directly to you Brodlack, at a personal level i give you my most sincere thanks for your comments (which are an open and honest reflections of your thoughts) as it is an open secret that i suffer from severe clinical depression that forced my retirement from volenteer staff work at westies in fact i have i have great difficulty in leaving my house or communicating with others.
Your honest comments created a will within me to gain knowledge on the recruiting backgroud work and other issues that forced me to make some phone calls, emails and most importantly personal contact with west adelaide friends that can only be beneficial for my long term health. Again my sincere thanks

Above paragraph is not an attempt for sympathy or expressions of sympathy rather a sincere thanks to brodlack for making me remember that the westadelaide family is our strength and that while we may quibble and argue  like all families at  the end of the day we are a family bonded by our love for the club.

Sorry all for being long winded

I seem to recall we all thought Scott Welsh would return to us, but he went to the Eagles instead. Just as well in the end as he had a terrible year with injury and retired if my memory serves me.
