You starting the thread and taars banned overseas how can we miss.

Its my recollection that for the last 3 years where we let the eagles sneak away in first half by around 5 goals even though we seem to come home strong they win --- where we are in front or close at half time we win (2015 gf)

Given we are starting fast in most games i feel we can win

Hopefully the win against Norwood will give the playing group the confidence to have a real crack against the Premiership Favourites.

Well they will probably have their two best forwards out, in Wundke and McGregor.
How far away is Wilson?

SA Under 18' defeated Vic country by 46 points.
Isaac Rankine's last qtr had to be seen to be believed.

On a more somber note copied from the official site

Our under 18s will take on The Eagles and will play for the Jake Watson memorial trophy. In this round we remember the young lives that were so tragically taken too soon, including Jake Watson, Ben Mitchell, Glen Knot and Corey Siemers. The players memorial plaques are in the players race and are never forgotten. We would love as many people to stay for the under 18 game which takes place prior to the league game.

West Adelaide could be without premiership defender Tom Keough for the rest of the season.
Keough, who spent last year with the Gold Coast Suns, will miss at least 6-8 weeks with a torn meniscus in his knee.
The Fos Williams Medallist is the Bloods’ only certain exclusion for the clash with the Eagles on Saturday.
Mildura product Josh Ryan looms as a possible replacement for Keough while Jack Evans has also been included in the 23-man squad.
Wingman Taite Silverlock will play his 100th Macca’s League game after also being recalled and named on the extended interchange bench.

How do we "stay" for the U18 game if it takes place prior to the League game? I presume it takes place after the League game. The standard of the stuff that's gone up on the website the last 24 hours is very poor.

I see they've amended it on the website now, so that it now reads "after to the League game." Sheesh.

Top v Bottom and the result reflected the ladder position of both sides.
We kicked 3 goals in 3 quarters yet had 53% of possession.
The way the game is played needs to be looked at.
It is boring and ugly. Too many players around the ball.
Crowds are disappearing and will continue to fall if the game continues to be played this way.
Not sure how others think....

We played ultra defensive footy when going into the wind and after a good 1st Quarter we fell away dramatically. The Eagles took the game on in the second quarter and that's what won them the game.

We over possessed the ball all day and our foot skills were very very ordinary, which has been a problem all year.

The only good thing about this game is that we don’t have to play the Eagles again this season. We were excruciating to watch today. Conditions were far from ideal but there are no excuses for such an ordinary effort. We now know that we are better than this. Our intensity was OK but our execution and decision making was dreadful.

We had plenty of the ball but butchered it all day. Why would you play a short/sideways/backward game when you are kicking with a strong breeze? You could only hope to win the mini league kicking sideways as much as we did.

Late in the last Q when we kicked long to Middleton he didn’t let us down with a couple of marks and goals. Well done to our young bigman TMac who probably won the rucks on the day but we lost the clearances.

The Eagles were down on personnel and struggled early against our pressure and tackling but they pretty much controlled the game from go to whoa. They were cleaner with hand and foot, they were fitter and they had a plan that worked. Our plan is to play on with handball everytime we get the ball and this doesn’t work against such a strong defensive unit as the Eagles. Their bad kicking saved us from further embarrassment – but then again we kicked quite a few of their behinds!!

The stats will show we had plenty of the ball but the Eagles were so much more efficient with their use.

Outcoached, outplayed and outclassed.

The ressies had a good win, 12.10 to 4.9. Jake Wilson seemed to pull up OK. The Under 18s, second to bottom, went down by only 8pts against the second placed Eagles. Pretty fair effort.
