Re: Trial match.
If they all brought 2 scones each they’d be lucky to russle up a dozen.
There will be food & beverages available at the ground for the trials but obviously limited due to anticipated crowd sizes ST.
No different to Norwood Oval for the Fast Footy comp.
Don’t worry, be happy!! You will be fed.

Re: Trial match.
So with Middleton in the Reserves, the only first-choice players I can see who aren't on the injury list and aren't playing tomorrow are Agostino, Wilson and Bates.

Re: Trial match.
Any supporters looking for early season inspiration at Richmond oval today would have left both disappointed and sunburnt.
We had a pretty strong side out on the park but were well beaten by the Crows reserves. We kicked a poor 5 goals for the match and couldn’t kick a goal in the last half of footy. At this time of the season the Crows would have a pretty strong side and to our credit we kept them to 10 goals. Same old story: competitive but found it hard to score. But it was only a trial.
Beechy played the first half and while he was there we had some forward system. He has returned to us an even better player than when he left. 2 years ago. Keough played the first half but when he and Beech finished at half time we struggled.
Green and Stevens did all the heavy lifting throughout. They got some support from Wasley-Black, Batley, Anderson, Schiller and Burgess. Rankine flashed in and out of the game but got caught a few times. Lachlan Evans looked good as did young Pat Fairlie late in the game. These two could press for senior selection.
Favretto limped off with what looked to be an ankle. Not sure if Wasley-Black had a headband or a bandage. John Noble injured his right shoulder but played out the game.
Of the recruits Parella played the last half in ruck and competed OK. Hupfeld played forward but went back later in the game. He seemed more at home in defence. Eastman and Kirk were named in the later trial.
Middleton, Bates, Porplyzia, Agostino and Wilson didn’t play in this game but could be expected to be in our first match in 3 weeks time.

Re: Trial match.
John Noble was busy all game & in everything which was a good sign IMO.
Webby also went off at half time but did some useful things deep in attack early.
Also Hilly didn’t play due to a bruised heel.
So when u take off Beech, Keough, Webb & McPherson at half time u not only lose attacking power but obvious height.
Don’t worry yet. I’m sure the coaches are having a look at several fringe boys & playing around with a few ideas.

I thought John Noble was excellent all day, to be our best player.

Re: Trial match.
I also thought Noble was our best player. He finds the footy has genuine leg speed and uses the ball well.
I though Anderson did some useful things across half Forward, however I don't think he is a genuine goal kicker. I would love to see him in defence as I think he would be more dangerous for us and even through the midfield, which is an area we are thin in.

I noticed a post on Talking Footy SA about the club running out of beer and soft drinks on the weekend. Post has been deleted now.

Very close to a full strength side for tomorrow night's trial from the looks. Still no Wilson though, anyone know what the story is there?

Hurt his hamstring at work as a plumber 2 wks ago. Don’t think it is too bad. Club being cautious I think.
