Not sure if we can get 2. Kirk will take a 2nd or 3rd tall as long as he bulks up in the gym. Hartlett should play back, then we have Thompson, Hayes and Carter. 1 more key defender would be nice though.

It's an absolute must that we sign another key defender. Both Kirk and Carter are a work in progress and need time to develop.

Hayes will play in the back pocket that's his best position. Therefore Hartlett should play CHB.

Mind you both these players are injury prone and Hartlett will miss the start of the season due to suspension.
Hartlett really needs to stand up next year. He can play but he needs to get his head and body right

True? Great pick up if so. Could be enough to shift Caire onto the ball.

Here is something from Left Field

Does anybody think Middleton could handle C/H/B
He has the size, and isn't slow. We seen he was used, as a R/Man on occasions
last year in the 2,s so he must be willing to learn

Any Thoughts

Brodlach

I reckon we have enough M/Field players
WESTIES are Lacking a KEY FORWARD
THORP would be the one how ever it would cost a BUNDLE to get him
By the way he has played M/Field

Hope we have some positive news later this week on some quality recruits

As 'Aldo Russian' stated we can sign players but not register them with the SANFL until after the 31st.

We have the money given the players we have lost.

I really want us to sign at key forward and key defender ASAP

For those who are interested...... someMORE ABOUT Mitch Thorp

MITCH THORP
Height: 194cm, Weight: 94kg, DOB: 25/12/1988
Recruited from: South Launceston

Mitch Thorp comes right back into draft contention after being out of the AFL system for a few years. Thorp was a former number six draft pick who never lived up to his potential because of a lack of application.

That all seems to have changed now with extra responsibilities and a family and hes turned in a fine season for the lowly South Launceston and led them to a premiership as captain/coach.
Thorp won the TSL best and fairest award averaging huge numbers through the season. He gathered 24 disposals, 11 marks and 4 goals a game showcasing outstanding consistency and leadership.

Despite his size Thorp is not a key forward, hes a very tall flanker who can roll through the midfield. Having said that, hes always had goal kicking ability and I think his role in the AFL would suit almost that of Matthew Richardson in his twilight years. Hes always struggled one on one but when you get him on the lead and on his bike, thats where hes most effective. He uses his good endurance to work up the ground and create separation that way and then his ball use and footy smarts going forward could provide a handful.

Thorp is a very nice kick, especially for goal and he can give it a good roost from outside 50.
Hes just got a very good football brain, and he generally does everything well. For whatever reason he didnt fulfil that talent his first time around but its clear hes too good not to be playing in the AFL and hopefully with his renewed attitude and previous experiences he can make the most of it.

Hed be a perfect fit for a lowly side struggling with forwards but I think hed also slot right into a side that is a contender and hed do just fine.

No matter who is up forward we still have to get it to them. We have had good forwards and not been able to deliver it properly. We need to concentrate on our forward movement this year. Crap delivery into the forward 50 should no longer be tolerated. ShockedShockedShocked

I think Jimmy Allan would be a good get however not at the expense of a key forward and a key defender.

If we wanted him he would have to come at a reasonable price

Re: Recruiting

I disagree with Allan, we have a good batch of midfielders - Schmidt, Mcreadie,Tuck. Ezard could run through and so could Silverlock and Birss.
We have to get a strong forward and defenders. I wouldn't want to rely on Hartlett and Hayes to fill the key defensive spots and Still up forward is still a question mark.
