End of season 2019 Empty End of season 2019

Post by mikeme on Mon Sep 16, 2019 11:01 am

Friday night will bring a close to season 2019.
Who will be crowned Neil Kerly medalist?
Who wins the Development Best player?
Should we put a caveat on our goal kicking trophy? over 30 goals?

Will the gathering of the club faithful be given any good news?
Will the gathering of the club faithful be given a decent meal?

Will the gathering of the club faithful hear of anymore retirements - players moved on?

Who will be best on ground during the night? (I might give it a shake unless Lee has more than 2 white wines)
Who will be putting there hand up to go onto the Board to fill the vacant spot (great night to do some lobbying)?

All this and more Friday night.

I expect members will start the night looking really good, then start to fade, and then completely run out of steam at the end.

Problem, mikeme.

I'm planning to have 3 white wines.

Did I ever tell you I had 4 one night after a winning Foxtel Cup game in Melbourne? Think I got away without anyone noticing.

I do seem to recall the night that you had the 4 wines Lee - Part of Foxtel Cup Folklore - A great night it was.
Jason I think you are pretty close with your pick but don't write off Josh Ryan - rarely beaten and the scoring system helps players like that. Also a late charge from Willsmore last half of the season was excellent.
Roaming Pods has a woman interest now so he might have to be on his best behavior.

Wished I could be there guys but sadly not to be.

Stevo for me watching from home but agree Josh Ryan is a real chance ---- always interesting as only the coaches know what role individual players are asked to perform for the team.

Reminds me of several years ago after the game a coach gave BOG to a player who only had 10 stats but his opponent (a champion player and play maker) had less and we won.

Have a great evening and MIKEME if Lethal has more than 4 wines and Thiele gets drunk it is YOUR FAULT  ---- big task I know but sure you can do (hmmm maybe) for the good of the club LOL

By the time Lee drinks his 4 wines I would have lost count of my drinks and won't remember who did what.

No offense Jason but please don't you get drunk cause there is no way I'm gonna carry you out.

With our western suburb neighbour, the financially challenged Glenelg FC in the 2019 Grand Final, am I the only Westies supporter to wonder why they are doing so well and we are doing so badly?

Very good question, B & R.

Well worth a good discussion.

A starting point might be how the balance between football and business is handled at each club, maybe.

We now have a corporate Board with a remit to make larger profits. Let's hope they do that quickly, as our previous two years' results were vastly improved.

I've always argued football should come first, as that's what I believe our members would think.

Who will be crowned Neil Kerly medalist?

Well deserved win by Logan Hill. I've admired his leadership this year and his ability

Who wins the Development Best player?

Sam May, looking forward to Sam playing more League next year

Should we put a caveat on our goal kicking trophy? over 30 goals?

Not done since 2015. We miss Fielks and Cheryl

Will the gathering of the club faithful be given any good news?

Nothing specific

Will the gathering of the club faithful be given a decent meal?

Yes, meal was good, but running the kitchen ourselves has always been a problem, which is why I was against changing. We'll see how that turns out.

Will the gathering of the club faithful hear of anymore retirements - players moved on?

Nothing about 'move ons'. Waz is going to Queensland and Nigel Osborn to the Fireys

Who will be best on ground during the night? (I might give it a shake unless Lee has more than 2 white wines)

Seems like it was you, as I totalled 2.5 Mt Blancs

Who will be putting there hand up to go onto the Board to fill the vacant spot (great night to do some lobbying)?

Haven't heard if Richard Sykes has been replaced, but there will be a new, good candidate hopefully

All this and more Friday night.
