Younger players coming through

Post by redandblack on Thu Nov 28, 2013 9:55 am

With all the talk about recruits, which will become clearer in the next week or two, it's easy to overlook our emerging younger players. I I

I had Zac Bates as one to watch, but he's gone to Geelong (good luck, Zac).

Who do you see as ones to watch this year?

Brad Kirk, Nick Favretto, Brett Turner, Ryan Dijksman (needs some work in the gym - a smaller version of Jono Beech 5 years ago), Jesse Watchman. There are some exciting kids coming through.

It'd be nice to see a bit of Durdin before he gets drafted.

A few Players
1st up I hope Middleton takes a HUGE STEP and shows he is a A grade Player

I hope we see more of Poynton & Favretto playing more league games than B grade games

Looking Forward to see if Watchman,Watkins,Turner,Minuzzo,Vick,Dijksman play league at some stage

Tom Carter is going to be a good player but he isn't ready to play FB in the league as yet

When Sylvestor left everyone panicked but Tippett stepped up on very little game time and I think that Carter will do a good job and will improve over the whole season. Eagles by the looks if it will be the only team with a powerful forward line. Sturt, South, Glenelg, North look a little weak, Norwoods not as strong as last season without Warren and depending on Retzlaf form Central is not overly strong.
Kurt Thompson, Hartlett, Carter and Hayes gives us enough depth to cover the defensive posts. One defender recruit would be good but not at the expense of a good ruckman or powerful forward
